The last day of my trip before I go home, I have an early evening cocktail at the rooftop bar of my hotel. It is quiet and I’m looking out at the Acropolis, reflecting on my trip. In that moment I am so moved by the magic of Greece. I’m beyond grateful for a safe, happy adventure that was filled with so many beautiful memories, with so many beautiful people and places. And filled with amazing food.
Naxos
My trip took me to beautiful Naxos, I think one of my all time favorite Greek Islands.

I meet Thomas and Hafid from Germany, what interesting and funny and charming guys! I miss you and hope to see you again!

I meet Debbie and Daniel from Perth, we drive around Naxos and hang out for a few days. What a lovely couple. I’m touched by their kindness and affection for each other. And Debbie serves as a great navigator! See you one day in Perth!!

Amorgos
What an unexpected surprise to discover this quiet, natural island. From the moment I arrived, I fall in love with this place.

Crete
I’ve wanted to go back to Crete for many years, but it is so shockingly different from quiet Amorgos that it takes me a minute to acclimate.
The island requires a car and some courage to fully explore!

On to Chania, Crete…

As I compare these two cities in Crete, I like both but find Chania to be a bit “elevated” – just a bit more special.
I see why people love Crete, but also recognize that, for me, the smaller Greek islands are more my vibe. Perhaps they are better for solo travelers where it is easier to meet other travelers. But I’m so grateful for the experience.
Athens
I love Athens. Happy to have an excuse to spend the night on my journey home. And even better to see my friends Nikos and Laticia.

Thank you
Thank you to anyone and everyone that has taken the time to join me on my 2025 Greek Island adventure. I valued every single Like and Comment and encouragement text along the way.
I remain extraordinarily grateful for these trips and especially the people I meet along the way. And also for every single Greek salad along the way. I will miss you.
My wish for you is that you find the one special place that ignites your happiness and sense of adventure. I love so many places in the world but find Greece to be my special happy place.
Solo travel can be a bit scary but it is so empowering and invigorating. It shakes up your entire soul and gives you time to breathe, reflect and imagine.
With the deepest gratitude and love,
Elena
