I think the best way to leave a place is when you have a long list of things you would still like to do. As a wrap up my days in Naxos there are still many reasons to come back.

I love these Greek breakfasts, especially the yogurt with honey. Or maybe in my case it is honey with some yogurt. I walk to breakfast barefoot and take in this beautiful way to start the day.

The cafes along the port are filled with people, a lot of locals starting their day with coffee with friends. The town is filled with energy.

Walking thru the town never gets old, on every visit I get a little lost and discover new little shops and cafes.
I stop at this little boutique to look at their linen dresses. The owner is kind and welcoming. He and his wife have had this shop for 30 years. It is open 7 days a week, 10 am to midnight. They are open from April to October, itโs a long season to work every single day.

I head to the beach to meet Hafid and Tomas, itโs windy but still lovely. I treat myself to a foot massage by one of the beach vendors.
We eat lunch at the beach and as we are eating we all just look out at the water and say how lucky we are. Again, we talk and talk and laugh. These guys have been such a gift. Bonus, they drive me back to my hotel.
I connect with my Aussie friends and we go up to a wine bar at the castle. We have a glass of wine for the sunset.

After sunset we go back to a beautiful restaurant on the beach. I save a little for one of the million cats.

We see the moon eclipse

This island has been something very special. I would recommend Naxos as one of the best islands for a first time visitor. It has a little of everything, but the sandy beaches are very unique for the Greek Islands.

Storing up my energy to leave Naxos and face the trauma of getting on a ferryโฆon to the next island!!
Thank you Naxos!
